Tidal Surge At Sandy Mouth 2013 – Fine Art Print
This part of the coast is a wild and rocky place, subject to tidal surges that come racing in with amazing speed. The tide can look like it is a long way out – hundreds of yards away – when unexpectedly a racing wall of water comes sweeping in, reaching you before you know it and tumbling you off your feet.
This can be very dangerous and Sandy Mouth cannot be recommended for family bathing, though t is fine to visit if you keep well clear of the sea and its currents. Please note that there are steep steps down to the beach.
