Painted Mannequin Head
Lawrence Dyer Painted Mannequin Head – Fine Art Print OR Original Painting
The print will be in portrait format and not landscape with dark borders as appears in the image on this page. The original has no borders of course.
The original is a painting of a mannequin head that I received for my birthday. The head itself appears to be made of some kind of bakelite material filled with more than one layer of plaster, though it is hollow in the centre.
On the outside it’s splattered with paint, creating a variegated effect which is both beautiful and interesting because it disrupts one’s perception of human features, much as camouflaged objects do on a larger scale. I’m very interested in the effects of camouflage and how it breaks up forms.
