December Sea at Westward Ho
The colour of the sea was striking on that day I stood on the shore at the foot of the Pebble Ridge with Westward Ho to my left and Northam Burrows to my right. The sea was a rich and delightful brown colour.
This contrasted beautifully with the limited sky colour and I have tried to capture the scene as i saw it. The rich brown of the sea was caused more by the unusual winter light that day than by sediment in the water, as someone suggested on Facebook. Westward Ho is always a great place to be and to paint!
