Duckpool Mere – Fine Art Print
If you don’t know Duckpool then it might be hard to guess that this view is right on the coast. The water running down from the small mere goes straight over the beach to the sea; the viewpoint of the painting is standing with one’s back to the sea. It being the North Cornwall coast the sea is usually raging and crashing in, for it’s seldom calm, while the mere shows hardly a ripple. With its bold, steep-sided hills this looks more like a valley in the Lake District than the Atlantic coast. The shore at Duckpool (out of view) is wild and rocky with no buildings or human-made distractions and long may it stay that way!
