‘Granite Boulders, East Dart River’ is a limited edition art print of a painting by Lawrence Dyer.
Rivers like this are littered with granite boulders on Dartmoor. In places they have been levered into place by prehistoric peoples to form stepping stones, sometimes even into basic ‘clapper’ bridges.
So when you stand by a river like this you get a strong feeling of its ancientness as well as its wildness.
This scene is close by ‘Dart Meet’ a place where the 2 separate branches of the river Dart converge on their way across Dartmoor and eventually down to the sea.
