Description

September At Widemouth Bay‘September At Widemouth Bay’ is an original oil painting on panel by Lawrence Dyer. It depicts a beautiful wave breaking on the south-west side of Widemouth Bay, with the distant cliffs of Millook and Crackington Haven beyond.

The full granduer of such moments cannot be captured in a photograph because photographs are limited to the reality that is available at the specific moment a photo was taken. A human artist can put into a painting the emotions experienced and the various aspects that go to make up the whole experience of a place. In this way a painting is closer to human experience. We do not experience a place in single fraction-of-a-second moments, rather we extrapolate from these.

Painting finished on 15th September, 2015.

Size: 18 x 10 inches. Thickness: 4mm. Painted on Jackson’s fine linen adhered to an mdf board/panel, a high quality product. Panels usually outlive stretched canvas greatly. As an example, the Mona Lisa is painted on a panel, not on stretched canvas, and is still with us today.

Unframed.

Note: any web address markers or watermarks visible in the painting as viewed on your monitor are not actually part of the painting and will not appear on the original oil painting you receive.
